Elizabeth Rice “E.R” Hensley, age 92, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of Frankfort, KY and Lexington, KY passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.. Mrs. Hensley was born in Covington, Ky on September 8, 1919, a daughter of Chester Hogan Rice and Ruth Houghton Rice. She worked as an Administrative Secretary for the Bureau of Corrections, State of Kentucky. She attended Eastern Kentucky University. She was an active member of First Christian Church in Frankfort, KY. She enjoyed playing bridge and gardening. She is survived by her daughter Beverly Zoe Bradley and husband Dennis of Blairsville, GA; grandson Andrew Hensley Bradley and wife Chloe Fletcher Bradley of Hilton Head Island, SC; nieces: Kathy Yoast and husband Rick Yoast of Santa Fe, NM; Celeste Kelly and husband Steve Kelly of Golden, CO; Diana Bell and husband Wes Light of Angel Fire, NM; and Jennifer Ruth Bell Burrell of Boulder, CO; step-granddaughters; Melissa Bradley Boyd and husband Jeff Boyd and daughter Lauren Boyd of Douglasville, GA; Stephanie Bradley Davis Anderson and husband Bill Anderson and daughter Dallas Davis of Johns Creek, GA; great nephews; Steven Parks Bell of New York City, NY; Will Thanhauser of New Orleans, LA; Bart Thanhauser of India, and Josh Burrell of Hayesville, NC; great niece Katie Kelly of Golden, CO; great great nephews William and Andrea Parks Bell of New York City, NY. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Stanley Woodrow Hensley, JR of Lexington, KY and her sister Kathleen Bell of Hayesville, NC. In lieu of flowers contributions could be made to First Christian Church, Frankfort, KY or First United Methodist Church of Blairsville, GA “The Mac”. Mr. Joey Leon Buck, age 49, of CH Colwell DR, Blairsville, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Union General Hospital following and extended illness. Joey was born September 9, 1962 in Danville, IL. Joey was a loving son, brother, and friend to many. He loved motorcycles and driving trucks. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers and NASCAR Race fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Leon Buck in 1996 and his wife, Debra Buck in 2007. He attended New Hope Baptist Church. Surviving Joey are his mother and step-father, Peggy and John Earl Gibson of Blairsville, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Les Seaborn of Blairsville, GA, step-sisters, Kathy McKinney of Jackson, SC, Susie McKinney of Jackson, SC, Sherry Young of Aiken, SC, several nieces and nephews, special friend, Debby Stephens of Blairsville, GA, many other relatives and friends also survive. Mrs. Alameda M. Jordan, age 99, of Ivy Gap RD, Blairsville, who passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 in Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Jordan was born February 10, 1912 in Yale, KY daughter of the late Festus and Nellie Crosswaite Alfrey. She moved to this area in 1983 from Riverview, FL. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jordan in 1995, brother, Russell Alfrey, sisters, DeValle Alfrey and Katherine Branham. She attended House of Prayer Church. Surviving Mrs. Jordan are: daughter, Sally Vancourt of Blairsville, daughter and son-n-law, Beverly and Ken Smith of Homer, grandchildren, Doug Simmons, Susie Wittstruck, Ronald Stephens, great grandchildren, Janet Essley, Trista Stephens, Justin Simmons, Brittanay Simmons, great-great grandchildren, Ryland Thomas, Caden Thomas, many other relatives and friends also survive. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Union Memory Gardens with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Pallbearers will be Doug Simmons, Ronald Stephens, Jason Thomas, Ken Smith. In lieu of flowers if you wish make memorials to the House of Prayer or to your favorite charity. Mr. Glynn Eldred Kite, age 85, of Honeysuckle DR, Blairsville, passed away, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Union General Hospital. Mr. Kite was born February 21, 1926, in College Park, GA son of the late Robert Carl and Rosa Cannaday Kite. He moved to this area in 1987 from Stone Mountain, GA. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran. Mr. Kite worked for Kraft Foods for over 35 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by brothers, Roy and Carlton Kite, and daughter, Linda Rene Moe. Mr. Kite was a member of Coosa United Methodist Church and was a member of the Church Choir. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Louise Kite of Blairsville, children, Sharon and Eugene Witt of Emory, TX, and Julie and Ken Allman of Dawsonville, GA, brother, W.L. Kite of McDonough, GA, grandchildren, Chris and Holly Witt, David and Amy Witt and Tiffany Dozier, great grandchildren, Kyndall Witt, Cason Witt, Avery Witt and Bryson Witt. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, November 28, 2011 at Coosa United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Aiken and Rev. Earl Bishop officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to Coosa Scholarship Fund.
