Mr. Charles Andrew Lee, age 82, of Timber Ridge RD, Blairsville passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Lee was born December 5, 1928 in East Point, GA son of the late Eubert and Alma Adams Lee. He moved to this area in 1990 from East Point, GA. He was a 50 years Mason and a member of Allegheny Masonic Lodge # 114 F&AM. Mr. Lee was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blairsville.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Latrice Lee of Blairsville, sons, Charles Allen Lee of Arnoldsville, GA and Andrew Jay Lee of Charlotte, NC, brothers, Harold Lee and Henry Lee both of Griffin, GA, sister Eloise Hunt of Douglasville, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers you may make memorials to BWMU of Georgia, c/o Georgia WMU & WEM, Georgia Baptist Missions Center, 6405 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA 30097.

Mr. Paul Rickey Brown

Mr. Paul Rickey Brown, age 65, of Sawmill Rd, Blairsville passed away Thursday November 10, 2011 in Hospice of Chattanooga following an extended illness. Paul was born April 21, 1946 in Blairsville, GA. He was a US army Vietnam Veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Brown, brothers, Edward, James and Lewis Brown. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Brown of Blairsville, mother, Mary Sullens of Blairsville, children, Vickie Smith and Ernie McCoig of Calhoun, Tammy and David Baxter  of  Rome, Paula and Darrell Elrod of Cartersville, Tabitha Brown of Blairsville, Jason Brown of Blairsville, step-children, Joanna Grindle of Blairsville, Steve and Connie Savage of Cleveland, Lavonda and Freddie Meeks of Blairsville, Nickey Savage of Cleveland, sisters, Eloise Brown of Gainesville, Ola Mae Hughes of Blairsville, Kathy Grizzle of Blairsville, brothers, Herbert Brown of Blairsville, Mack Brown of Gainesville, grandchildren, Kimberly and Brandon Lockwood, Rickey Boling and Tiffany Nelson, Aprile and James Bailey, Megan and Aaron Watson, Kayla Smith, great grandchildren, Lacie, Ethan, Kenzie Bailey, Blake, Haley, Makayla Watson, Wesley and Braden Boling, Carson Lockwood, step-grandchildren, James, Amanda and Dewayne Beck, Nikki Sullens, Dana Johnson, Courtney, Paige and Steven Savage, Jenny Loggins, Jason Meeks and Luke Loggins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2011 at  Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Black and Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Music will be by Andrew Smith, Jim Woods and Luke Loggins. Interment will be in Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers make memorials to your favorite veterans organization. The family will receive friends Saturday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Stephen Troy Pearson

Pearson, Stephen Troy, passed away at home on Tuesday evening, November 15, 2011 after a lengthy illness.  Steve leaves behind his loving wife Debra, son Troy, sister Deborah Waddell, brother-in-law David Waddell, brother-in-law Brian Brenner and father-in-law Richard Brenner.  Steve was born in Miami in 1952, where he resided until 2007, when he moved with his family to Murphy, NC.  Steve was a graduate of Miami Palmetto Senior High and Barry University.  His career with the airlines spanned a period of 30 years, most recently as a pilot with United Airlines.  He was proud of his 21 year service with the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary.  He was active in and organized numerous fundraisers for several Florida charities including The Adam Walsh Foundation and The National Center For Missing and Exploited Children.  Steve will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will live in their hearts forever.  At his request, no services will be held.  However, his family will be pleased to receive friends at his home after 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 27th to share memories.  Any remembrances could be made to his favorite local charities: “Shop With A Cop”, c/o Murphy Police Department, 93 Peachtree Street, Murphy, NC  28906 or “Hurlburt-Johnson Friendship House”, P.O. Richard Ray Calhoun

Mr. Richard Ray Calhoun, age 70, of Blairsville passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 at Union County Nursing Home. He had lived here for the past four years coming from West Palm Beach, FL.

Richard is survived by a sister, Bonnie Gonska of Conway, SC. No services are planned.
